#7 - Learn Photoshop

The Why:

I really wanted to design t-shirts. I was in the process of starting a website providing dating coaching advice. As part of this brand, I wanted to create t-shirts that I could sell. I also had an interest in Photoshop and making cool designs.

The How:

For this, I consulted Skillshare, which is a learning platform providing short courses on a range of different topics.

I had much fun doing this course (Introductory to Photoshop by Daniel Scott), and I have shared some of the results below.

Coming into this, I did some basic PS in high school (in 2003) and when I was in Uni. My main area of interest was in designing tshirts, which I never completed (Hmm.. future post, anyone?), so I was practically a beginner.

Photoshop is now a subscription based software and you need reasonable computing power to run it. This may not be as budget friendly as some of the other ideas, however, if you have the means and a few rainy afternoons this is a fantastic achievement to pursue!

Understanding the basics is paramount, and you can source cool images from sites such as unsplash and pexels for your creations.

Lessons Learnt:

  • A little creativity can go a long way.

  • Incredibly rewarding experience.

Status:

  • Beginner course completed (probably forgotten everything!).

T-shirt design for guys to wear in nightclubs and approach women.
